I loved seeing Kadi Prescott on supernanny last night. She was so real and honest. I love that.
I am so glad Kadi and Daniel were able to restore the relationship with Kadi’s dad. Forgiveness is so essential for us to move forward in life. It was great to see a family willing to work on this HUGE issue. Now, he will be able to be a grandad to all of those kids!
I was in tears much of the show.
Thank you Kadi for being REAL on television. I know you helped millions of families!!
Oh, and you are all so cute!!!

I was about 2 years old when my parents divorced. My dad had a successful business with a factory overseas. My mom decided to remain at home and take care of me. She worked part time jobs until finally settling down and becoming a teachers aid.
My dad visited me regularly and sometimes I would spend the weekend at his house. When my friends from my neighborhood would go with me they all thought he lived in a mansion.
My daddy was (and still is) very friendly and talked to everyone when we were out. One thing I began to notice early on was how different people acted around my dad, since he had the expensive car and he had the successful business. My mom was treated nicely but people went out of their way to do whatever my dad asked. I flip flopped between the two worlds for years.
My dad dated a lot. The women were so kind to me when he was around. They were the perfect little “dates” for him when I was along. One day he sent his girlfriend to take me to get ice cream. The friendly, loving lady, turned cold and silent as soon as we got in the car. I was 10 years old and I learned a lesson that day. For me the lesson was this: certain people will do and say anything to be around people with money. It also sent me on a lifelong search to find people who were “real” for me to trust.
I watched this happen over and over again as I grew up. I know it happens everywhere. People are treated differently if they are deemed important.
Now, the reason for me sharing this tiny bit of my life isn’t because I want to whine. It is because I want to share a child’s eye view of life. God has given me a heart for change and the desire to treat everyone equally.
We can all try to treat people equally and teach our kids to do the same. Let’s treat people with kindness, and build people up instead of knocking them down.

Today has been one of those days…..
Cara has been crazy lately. She is 4 going on 30. She talks all day long, from the time she gets up until the time she falls asleep (I will try to post the picture of her sleeping with her play cell phone). It makes no difference if anyone is listening or not, she is still talking. She talks about her clothes, she talks about her sisters, she talks about food, she talks about TV, the dogs, anything really. She goes into great detail, like this, “mama, I like these jeans because I can snap them all by myself and hear the snap”!! or this “mama, I really need some of your lipgloss on to make my lips look pretty”. Anyway, you get the picture. I am tired just listening to her.
Then, I get the other girls from school. Emma’s first grade class was visited by a dentist today. The dentist passed out “tooth boxes” to all the kids. Emma wants to be able to use her box, so she is frantically trying to rip her front tooth out. Ellie decides to help Emma pull her tooth out and also decides it would be a good source of income to try to knock one of her own teeth out. So, I have 2 kids with bleeding teeth and one kid who is STILL talking (now about teeth).
Praise God for the blessing of my husband coming and taking them all to deliver girls scout cookies!! I can relax in peace for a few minutes. I am loooovvving the quietness!!!
I just decided to write this as I was sitting here wondering why I am so tired tonight. hee hee.

A few nights ago here in my town, the manager of O’Charley’s was shot during a robbery.
Today, while I was working in Emma’s classroom, I heard some employees talking about the manager having kids at Emma’s school. That made me so sad. It really hits home when you realize the sorrow some sweet little child is feeling.
On the way home, I heard the song Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman. Everyone needs to hear this song. It is about little girls and their daddies. It is great and I cried all the way home. I was thinking about the child or children (I don’t know the details) that lost their daddy at O’Charley’s.
Please keep this family in your prayers. God knows who they are and what they need.
Hug your little Cinderella’s and Prince’s today.

I thought this was a cute idea on my sister’s blog so I put it on mine.
I have a lot of favorite memories from my childhood.
I remember my mother taking me fishing with a bamboo fishing pole. Me, being impulsive as usual, threw the whole pole in the water.
I remember playing Avon lady with my Mamaw. She was lots of fun.
One of my other favorite memories was getting locked inside Sears with my daddy. We couldn’t find a door to get out. We were laughing.
I asked Cara what is her favorite memory so far and she said- making cup cakes with Jo, cuddling with mama, and playing with Ellie and Emma. Since she is only 4, I know those will change.
What is a favorite childhood memory you have??? Come on and speak!!! It helps me to be a better parent when I listen to what people remember.
Happy Day!
Christy

As I was growing up, things Changed on a monthly basis. One thing that didn’t change much was our holidays.
My sister is 18 years older than me so it was basically my parents and I at Christmas. My parent’s were divorced but we all still spent Christmas together. Mama didn’t have much money so I didn’t get a lot of presents from her. I understood that and I treasured the presents she gave me.
Daddy was an international business man. He owned a very successful factory in Taiwan. He would come to my house and bring tons and tons of presents. Sometimes I could tell he had gone in the “Hello Kitty” store and just bought one of everything they had. This was very endearing to me since he was a single man and I knew he was trying.
Most of the time my sister and her family would arrive after Christmas and Christmas continued for another week.
I have lots of great memories about Christmas. I am so thankful for all the holiday memories from my childhood. I hope my kids have many happy memories too.

My dad is 80 years old. He is in perfect health. He plays tennis several times a week and he is on no medication.
Today he was out with his wife. They were shopping for a tombstone for their dog. He was feeling great. Suddenly, he just fell over. He passed out and landed on a rock. He was out for 10 minutes.
Now he is in intensive care at the hospital. He has had some tests. It is not his heart and it is not his brain. He has a HUGE black eye. It is about the size of a tennis ball. The only thing hurting him is his thumbs (of all things). He is in great spirits but he looks really bad.
Please say a prayer for my daddy.
GET WELL SOON DADDY!

Kyle (daddy)— Cara you have had a smart mouth lately. Why is that?
Cara–because my brain is crooked.
