Cara- I just want to live in one, people who live in them are lucky.

me- why?

Cara- because of the little refrigerator.

me- huh?

Cara- because they get to have a little teeny refrigerator.

me- you want to live in a cabin because of the little refrigerator???

Cara- Mama, yes, it is MINI!

Okay, so we think our kids want bigger and better stuff  and my child is dreaming of a cabin because of the small fridge. hmmmm.

 I really loved this movie! It was very uplifting…I think both women had amazing stories. It is a great chick flick!

Pageants

 The pageant show on TLC scares me.  I mean, I am afraid those little girls are going to think life is all about looks…Ellie singing in Talent shows is hard enough but at least she is relying on a talent.  I guess, I should say to each his own but it gives me the creeps…to watch the mom’s pushing the kids to shake their butt’s and wear fake hair and more make up than I have ever had on in my whole life is unnerving.

 I know there are exceptions…so no angry comments please.  Some of these kids are just so conceited…yikes…let’s be humble….and learn it is what inside that really counts.

The Velveteen rabbit

 I’ve had this blog for over a year now.  One of my first blog post was on the Velveteen Rabbit story.  It is my favorite children’s story.  Now I know it is probably because ,as a kid, I was constantly searching for people who were “real”.

 Here is a little bit of the story again. I love the symbolism. Maybe I should post it once a year.

 The velveteen rabbit asked the skin horse if it hurts to be real and the skin horse replied, “Sometimes, but when you are real, you don’t mind to much”.  “Once you are real, you can’t be ugly except to people who don’t understand”. “Once you are real you can’t become unreal again. It lasts for always”.

 I love it!!! Forgive me for quoting it from memory. I’m sure I left a few words out. 

 What do you think “being real” means? What does it feel like to you?

Congrats Ellie

Well, little Ellie’s contest was last night. She did great!! I am so amazed at her ability to get up and dance and sing without being nervous. Kyle and I were both very nervous but not Ellie. She just loves to sing.

 She sang “the other side of me” by Hannah Montana. She loves Miley and the crowd seemed to know the song too.

 She won best soloist and best dressed. Ellie was very happy over both trophys.

 Congratulations Ellie!!!!!

 I love you and I am very proud of you!!!

Ellie part 2

Ellie made it!! She is now in the show. She did great!! I am happy for her. It is so important to me that Ellie have self confidence and that no matter what she TRY!!! Winning and losing aren’t the issue. The issue is trying!!

Miss Elliebelle has an audition today.  She is in round two for the Murfreesboro Idol contest here. It is a tween/teen Murfreesboro version of American Idol.  She amazes me how she can sing in front of people.  I would never have done that at her age. 

 She is 10, the youngest age they allowed.  Her dream is to sing, so I am encouraging her to get experience.  She gets a little nervous. She takes Emma along for moral support.  Today, she had to bribe Emma with candy.

 Well, say a little prayer and wish her luck!!

the singer, the athlete and the comedian

  I have been watching my children lately. They are all so different.  They have very diverse peronalities.

 Ellie loves to sing. She will sing from the other room when people visit so they can hear her but she won’t be embarrassed. She has a pretty voice and wants to be just like Miley Cyrus.

 Emma is very sporty. She is into tennis and soccer. She rushes into sports “head on” and just keeps going.

 Cara is the comedian. She is naturally funny. She is very happy and that makes her even more funny.  My mother told me yesterday “Cara is just crazy”. That is true.

 I am glad God made them all different.  I want to encourage them to have individual dreams.  They are learning to encourage each other too.

 Isn’t it wonderful how we are all different?
